The novel have two sections. In first, the first person narrator is a reporter (holding diploma degree in reporting). His trekking to Ghandruk lead him towards curiosity of Pagal Basti. Presentation of natural canvas, description of various villages, villagers along with Pokhara are lively. The Maranchyase Tea Maker and his maranchyase story, the mad man Bhakte, the local school teacher, the mistress of lodge house all seems real people even though they are fictional. The first part is only about the old rumor about Pagal Basti, its Gothic and unbelievable story [...] " - Biraj Dahal
